NCC Bars MTN, Airtel, Glo From Selling SIM Cards

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has imposed fines in the total sum of N647,500,000 Million on three service providers, Airtel, Globacom and MTN Nigeria Ltd for failing to meet the Key Performance Indicators, KPIs, for quality of service in the month of January 2014.

Consequently, the three companies have been barred from selling SIM Cards with effect from 1st till 31st of March 2014, and are also barred from all promotions in their networks until they improve on the failed KPIs for which they are sanctioned.

The details of the sanction showed that Airtel Network Ltd, and MTN Nigeria Communications Ltd, are to pay a fine of N185 Million each while Globacom Ltd is liable to the tune of N277,500. In addition, each of the operators must pay the sanction amount on or before March 7, 2014, failure upon which each will be liable to pay N2,500,000 per day as long as the contravention persists.

The sanctions, which were communicated to the three operators in a letter signed by the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Eugene Juwah, said the Commission will carry out an audit of the three companies on March 1, 2014 and also on March 31st, 2014, to ensure that no sale of new SIM Cards takes place in any of the three networks within the period.

The letter made reference to an earlier directive of December 10, 2014, which warned the operators that “if the Quality of Service does not improve by 31st December, 2013, the Commission will be compelled to direct operators to, among others, suspend the activation of new SIMs and subscribers until such an operator can prove that it has met the Key Performance Indicators specified in the Regulations”.

According to Dr. Juwah, “ the Commission after careful collation of statistics from the Network Operating Centres, NOC, of all major networks operators for the month of January 2014, has concluded that the service provided by some of the operators during the period fell below the Key Performance Indicators published by the Commission in the Quality of Service Regulations, as amended”.

Details of the sanction also indicated that Airtel failed on Call Setup Success Rate, CSSR, and SDCONG, while MTN failed on Call Setup Success Rate , CSSR and Drop Call Rate, DCR. On its part, Globacom failed on Call Setup Success Rate, CSSR, Drop Call Rate, DCR, and SDCONG.

The Key highlights of the sanction are that the concerned operators must adhere to the following conditions:

1. Payment of the fines shall be on or before March 7, 2014.

2. Failure to settle the said amount within the stipulated period, the operators shall continue to be liable to pay the sum of N2,500,000 ( Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) per day for as long as the contravention persist.

3. To stop the sale of new SIM Cards throughout the month of March 2014, with effect from March 1 to 31, 2014.

4. The Service Providers shall not churn or delete inactive or ( None revenue generating SIMs) from their networks during the period of March 1 to 31, 2014.

5. The Service Providers shall not supply new SIM Cards from their warehouses or other sources to its Dealers or third parties throughout the period from March 1-31, 2014.

6. The Service Providers shall stop all promotions until the KPIs which have been identified in their respective networks are positively addressed.

The directive further warned that “any deviation or alteration of provisioning pattern ( in terms of average daily number of provisioning) in the remaining days of February 2014 compared to the regular provisioning rates by the concerned service providers shall be construed as a breach to the Direction.

“God’s Grace Is Sufficient For My Nakedness” – Maheeda

Maheeda, whose real name is Caroline Sam, says her going n***d as a born again christian would never make God love her less. She says His Grace is sufficient for her.

Currently promoting her music, Maheeda in an interview with Encomium said she doesn’t have any problems exposing herself:-

“I dont have a problem doing what I do but I think its because of my job and I know most Christians would not understand. But I just believe that this is what I have to do to get attention especially when it comes to my job and I just believe His grace is enough for me. He loves me more than my nakedness. If you see God as a father and he sees you as a daughter, He would not because of your nakedness want to ruin you or kill you. That is how I see God. He understands me. He hates me but he loves me at the same time”.

Emeka Ike Thrown Out Of Rented Duplex Over Failure To Pay N8.5million Rent

Nollywood Actor and school proprietor, Emeka Ike has been thrown out of his rented apartment in Magodo GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, over his inability to pay an accumulated three years rent of N8.5 million.

The apartment, a twin duplex located at 1, Raji Oladimeji Street, Magodo GRA, was until his ejection, used by Emeka to run his business.

Emeka had in 2007 diversified by establishing a secondary school named St Nicholas College and decided to hire the premises on a five-year lease agreement from an 87-year-old retiree, Chief Samuel Agboola Akintan at the rate of N2 million per annum for the first two years and N3 million annually for the remaining three years, bringing the total rent of five years to N13 million.

Sun newspaper reports that Emeka was able to get his landlord accept a deposit of N2 million with a promise to pay the rest later. Trouble, however, started when a year after moving in, the popular Actor began to default and at a point issued a dud cheque of N1.5 million.

To force Emeka to pay his money and eject him from the property, Chief Akintan through his company, Samak Investments Ltd, had to drag the Actor to the Ikeja Magistrate court where he was ordered out of the house.

Five Men In The Bible Who Lived The Longest

In today’s world many do not reach their seventieth birthday. When mankind was fresh from the Creator’s hand man lived for hundreds of years. Adam and Eve were debarred from the tree of life because of their disobedience presumably very early and were cast out of the Garden of Eden. However they had already eaten from the tree of life so its life-giving power remained in their DNA and that of their descendants for centuries. Let us see who were the five oldest men who ever lived without counting, at first, those who like Enoch and Elijah, never died or those, who, like Moses, were resurrected and are still alive in Heaven. These men will be presented in descending order with man number 5 being the oldest person ever.

(5) Seth
In fifth position we have Seth, Adam’s third son who replaced righteous Abel. He lived for nine hundred and twelve (912) years. (See Gen. 5:8). It is through his line that the whole world comes from.

(4) Adam
In fourth position we have Adam himself. The man whom God created with his own hands lived for nine hundred and thirty (930) years. (See Gen. 5:5). You would have expected him to live the longest since God formed him with His own hands and he had direct access for a short while to the tree of life before he sinned, but dealing with the fact that his sin and that of his wife blighted the world with a curse could not have been easy to deal with, not to mention being most certainly blamed by his descendants for all the world’s evils and sorrows.

(3) Noah

In third place is good old Noah (no pun intended) who preached for one hundred and twenty years to try to save all the people he could and in the end only his family, eight persons, came into the Ark that he had built to escape the great Flood. He lived for nine hundred and fifty (950) years. (See Gen. 9:29)

(2) Jared
In second spot we have Jared of whom we know little except that his son Enoch walked
with God for three hundred years and was so perfect that God carried him to Heaven
without dying. Jared lived to be nine hundred and sixty-two (962) years. (See Gen. 5:20).

(1) Methuselah
The title of longest liver goes to Methuselah, Enoch’s son, who lived for nine hundred and sixty-nine (969) years, seven years more than his grand-father Jared. (See Gen. 5:27). It could be said that Enoch was the oldest man that ever lived and Methuselah, his son, is the oldest man who ever died.

There is a hint as to why Methuselah, the son of prophet Enoch, lived so long. His name is a combination of two Hebrew words, the first meaning “death” and the second meaning “spouting.” His name has been loosely translated as “when he shall die the Flood [or spouting] shall come.” Indeed the records show that the same year that Methuselah died the Flood came – after one thousand six hundred and fifty-six (1656) years and not two thousand years as is commonly believed. All the data comes from Genesis chapter 5 onwards. Methuselah’s prophetic name was a sign of the probation of the antediluvian world. Their probation was not only the one hundred and twenty (120) years of Noah’s preaching but the whole nine hundred and sixty-nine years of Methuselah’s life. He lived the longest because God was merciful not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (See 2 Peter 3:9) No matter how long you live, live for Jesus. It has been said that it does not matter how you die but it matters how you live.

Obasanjo Agrees To Commission Amaechi's Projects In Rivers; PDP Gets Angry

President Olusegun Obasanjo is one man you just can't put in a box, he operates out of the box at all times and there is nothing anyone can do to change that. He said Nigeria is now his constituency, not just PDP.

But the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has been crying since they learnt of the invitation the former President got from Governor Rotimi Amaechi with a view to showcase his wonderful works in the state.

"Who in this world would say he does not know that Governor Amaechi built over 350 primary and secondary schools? But the truth is that Obasanjo is coming to Rivers State to see and inauguration what some blind leaders refused to see."

But the opposition PDP is seeing Obasanjo's invitation to Rivers State differently.

PDP on Wednesday described the ex-President’s invitation to the state to commission the Amaechi projects as a display of hypocrisy and pretence. It said the governor invited the ex-President to create the impression that both of them (Obasanjo and Amaechi) had overcome their resentment for each other.

But is anything wrong if Obasanjo and Amaechi reconcile? Is PDP expecting them to be enemies for life?

Reacting to PDP's criticism, Special Assistant to the Interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Chukwuemeka Eze, described Obasanjo as a leader with pedigree and should not be insulted by PDP.

Eze described the planned visit of the former President as historical, adding that the people of the state would come out en mass to welcome him.

In his words, “For the PDP to say that former President Obasanjo was coming to Rivers State to inauguration schools and roads built by former Governor Peter Odili shows that they are misguided in their thoughts.

“That Obasanjo said Amaechi’s governorship ambition had K-leg; that was seven years ago and the issue must have been rectified. Why is the PDP still dwelling on the issue?”

Obasanjo is expected in Rivers State on February 17, 2014.

[SUPRISE] Church In America Where People Worship N*ked [See Photos]

A church in the US state of Virginia has taken the bizarre decision to allow its congregation to attend services in the Unclad. Pastor Allen Parker, the leader of White Tail Chapel in the town of Southampton, said he came to the decision to allow Unclad worship after concluding the clothing requirements of other churches were overly ‘pretentious’, and decided his own flock should be free to forgo such materialism if they desire.

He believes he is in good company too, claiming many of the most important moments in the Bible happened while the protagonists were Unclad, including Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection.
